Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are currently the most prevalent forms of chronic hepatitis in China. According to traditional Chinese medicine, damp-heat (DH) syndrome is a common diagnosis related to chronic liver disease. However, it has not been annotated to its biological characteristics yet. The aim of this study was to identify the consistent changes that occur in the gut microbiota of patients with DH syndrome, CHB, and NAFLD.
