Measurement Technique for Broadband Frequency and Intensity Noise of Single-Frequency Laser

A standard measurement technique of laser noise in the broad frequency band from mHz to MHz is reported. The frequency and intensity noise characteristics of single frequency laser in the wide frequency band from mHz to MHz are measured in a standardized way by developing a correlation delay self heterodyne frequency noise measurement device based on Michelson fiber interferometer and an optical heterodyne beat frequency measurement device with calibration function, combined with standard instruments such as spectrum analyzer and fast Fourier transform analyzer, and the accuracy of the measurement results is verified. This measurement technology is expected to be applied to laser noise evaluation in gravitational wave detection and precision measurement.
