Examination of 5 different conditions that halt the cell cycle with a focus on nutrient starvation. The goal was to identify transcriptional regulators that steer the metabolic reprogramming of diatom cells transitioning from nitrogen replete to nitrogen starved condition. As a contrast three other conditions were also sampled where cell division arrests: no phosphate, dark and nocodazole treated.
