Summary of variations of specific conductance with altitude for selected groundwater monitoring wells, Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands

This data release includes tabular summaries of specific conductance, temperature, and altitude (depth; CTD) and plots of specific conductance versus altitude at selected groundwater monitoring wells during July 2018–July 2024. The tabular summaries were developed using data retrieved from GeoLog Locator, an online database for quality-assured borehole geophysical data and accessible at https://webapps.usgs.gov/GeoLogLocator/#!/. Specific conductance profiles (plots of specific conductance versus altitude) were generated from the tabular data at each well during each data-collection event. The tabular summaries and profiles are grouped by well and combined into separate comma-separated value (CSV) files (one CSV per well) and multi-layered Portable Document Format (PDF) files (one PDF per well). Descriptions of the tabular summaries and profiles are included in the metadata file.

This data release includes the following files:

A metadata file (Saipan_CTD_metadata_2018-24.xml) includes an explanation of the contents of the tabular summary files and multi-layered PDF files.
A map file (Saipan_monitoring_well_location_map.png) shows the location of the 12 groundwater monitoring wells described in this data release.
A CSV file (GeoLog_CTD_profile_webpage_links.csv) containing webpage links to the original CTD profile data.
A ZIP folder (Graphical_summaries.zip) of a set of multi-layered PDF files ([well name]_CTD_profiles_[year range].pdf) containing profiles of specific conductance versus altitude for each monitoring well.
A ZIP folder (Tabular_summaries.zip) of a set of CSV files ([well name]_CTD_profiles_[year range].csv) containing tabular summaries of specific conductance (microSiemens per centimeter at 25 degrees Celsius), temperature (degrees Celsius), and altitude (feet relative to Northern Marianas Vertical Datum of 2003) data retrieved from GeoLog Locator.
