DIFFERENTIAL PATHOMORPHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF ACUTE AND CHRONIC KIDNEY INJURY IN MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a severe cardiovascular condition associated not only with myocardial necrosis but also with systemic hemodynamic and metabolic disturbances that may significantly affect renal function. Acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney injury (CKI) are important complications that may develop in patients with MI and substantially influence prognosis, treatment outcomes, and mortality. The present thesis focuses on the differential pathomorphological characteristics of acute and chronic renal injury associated with myocardial infarction and discusses the mechanisms underlying structural changes in renal tissue.
