A. montevidensis was obtained from a salt-tolerant plant, Medicago sativa, grown in regions of hypersaline Huama lake, Shaanxi, China. The fungus was capable of growing in media with NaCl concentrations ranging from 0 to 5 M and optimally at 3 M. Our aim in this work is to understand the molecular mechanisms of A. montevidensis responding to high-salt stress, based on the transcriptomic approach.
