资源简介:
1:50,000 geological mapping of the Convoy Range was conducted covering an area of some 2,500 square kilometres extending from the Mackay Glacier in the south to the Fry and Chattahoochee Glaciers in the north being the area included in the Convoy Range Sheet. This included the Convey Range and massifs as far east as the 162°E longitude line. The area comprises basement granitic rocks, Beacon Supergroup (both Taylor and Victoria groups) and Ferrar Dolerite which contributes by far the greatest volume of rocks. Surficial glacial deposits were also mapped in detail to provide a record of the glacial history of the region.
