资源简介:

This dataset contains 3,108 plant–flower-visitor interaction records collected from two high-Andean localities in Peru: Toro (Arequipa Region) and Oyón (Lima Region), between May and June 2023. Field sampling was conducted in two transects per locality, with three sampling replicates per transect. Floral visits were recorded only when visitors contacted the reproductive structures of flowers (anthers or stigmas). The dataset includes sampling locality, transect, replicate, observation date, plant family, plant species or taxonomic identification, visitor order and family, and functional-group classification. Functional group classification: DPT: Diptera — Flies (order Diptera). HYl: Long-tongued bees — Long-tongued bees (Hymenoptera: Apidae and Megachilidae). HYs: Short-tongued bees — Short-tongued bees (Hymenoptera). HYw: Wasps — Wasps (order Hymenoptera). HYa: Apis mellifera — Introduced honeybee (Apidae); classified separately from other bees. CLP: Coleoptera — Beetles (order Coleoptera). LEm: Moths — Moths (order Lepidoptera). HEM: Hemiptera — Flower visitors of the order Hemiptera. THY: Thysanoptera — Thrips (order Thysanoptera). ORT: Orthoptera — Orthopterans (order Orthoptera). AVE: Hummingbirds — Hummingbirds (birds; order Apodiformes). These data can be used to construct quantitative bipartite ecological networks, investigate patterns of floral visitation, evaluate the structural importance of plant families and flower-visitor functional groups, and compare interaction networks across high-Andean ecosystems. The dataset provides primary observational information relevant to pollination ecology, plant–animal interactions, ecological network analysis, and biodiversity research in the Peruvian Andes. Because the observations document floral visitation rather than direct measurements of pollen transfer or reproductive success, the records should not be interpreted as evidence of pollination effectiveness.
