Molecular assessment of bacteria in root canals with apical periodontitis pre- and post-endodontic therapy in a Turkish population. Bacteria

The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency of the root canal medicaments on elimination of the bacteria species isolated from teeth with periapical radiolucency in Turkish population. In this scope, samples taken from patients who was found convenient by clinicians for root canal theraphy (RCT), were treated by PMA. DNA molecules of dead cells in time of sampling were eliminated. After DNA isolation, 16S rRNA targeted NGS application and bioinformatic analysis revealed functional bacterial diversity with high resolution.
