NRS-1127 | Register of Charities

This series contains a list of charities registered under the Charitable Collections Act. The register comprises three volumes in typescript format, and contains handwritten annotations of charities added later to the list. The register records the name of the charitable organisation and file number. There is a list of charities refused registration in the front of Volume 1. A photocopy of Volumes 1 and 2 was used by the Stamp Duties Office to determine which organisations were entitled to exemptions from stamp duty. The register maintained by that Office contains many later annotations and additions.(12/10893). 3 vols.
