Nos. 1 and 2: Wilfull Lady! Johnson Line's S.S. Los Angeles shown lying alongside Borax Docks in Wilmington docile now, but with her bow pointing directly at huge hole she tore in Matson Navigation Company docks across channel. She suddenly 'took off' as she was docking at 2 a.m. yesterday, narrowly missed hitting S.S. Hawaiian Builder lying 600 feet ahead of point of impact. Note damage to dock in background under sign Los Angeles Harbor. 3-4: 100 feet from water's edge shed was shoved awry on landward side. In bulge is J.A. Jackson, Marine Superintendent, Matson Navigation Company, without hat; and A.E. Ockerman, chief clerk. 5: Close up of damage to dock shows J.A. Jackson, without hat; and Captain A.T. Ostrander, surveyor for Johnson Line, wearing hat, lean over to examine damage under dock. Other shots show huge gap in dock and shed from water's edge. Inside to outside shots note sign at left top pointing to Forward Gangplank. This is where thousands of visitors to Matson's Lurline would have been imperiled had crash occurred ten hours earlier as the Lurline sailed from (?) Honolulu at that time".
