Based on the water resources related data of the Cha'erhan Salt Lake mining area from 2010 to 2019, a water resources carrying capacity (WRCC) evaluation system was constructed from four dimensions: water resources, salt mine resources, socio-economic and ecological environment. The CRITIC method and entropy weight method were combined with game theory weighting, and the grey relational TOPSIS and obstacle degree model were used to comprehensively evaluate the water resources carrying capacity level of the mining area and diagnose obstacle factors. The dataset includes water resources related data, weight data, water resources carrying capacity index data, and obstacle degree data from the salt lake mining area from 2010 to 2019
