In this study, 11 typical polder areas above the Xianghekou Sluice of the Chu River were selected as alternative flood detention and storage zones. Data including flood storage area, storage volume, population, cultivated land area, and GDP within the polders were collected and sorted as input datasets, while the output data were the scores of various indicators evaluated for each polder using the layout optimization method proposed in this study.
