This pilot study investigates the influence of demographic factors on semantic learning and memory through a combination of behavioral tasks and statistical analyses. Thirty adult participants completed six tasks designed to assess distinct components of semantic memory. Correlational and regression analyses revealed strong relationships among measures of semantic knowledge, associative fluency, phonemic fluency, and naming ability, suggesting shared mechanisms underlying lexical access. Principal component and clustering analyses further demonstrated that semantic memory operates as an interconnected network of subsystems rather than a unitary construct. Notably, bilingualism emerged as a significant predictor of naming performance, with bilingual participants showing lower and more variable accuracy. These findings highlight that semantic memory reflects both universal cognitive structures and individual linguistic experience.
