Marthiyyahâ-i-Ḥusain (مرثيّه هاى حسين).

A collection of elegies on the martyrdom and death of the Imâm Ḥusain, ‘Alî’s son, no doubt belonging to that class of ta’ziyas, usually sung in the first ten days of Muḥarram, by an anonymous compiler. The first elegy begins:

السّلام اى حضرت شاه شهيدان السّلام

السّلام اى مقتداى اهل ايمان السّلام

The original collection ends on fol. 94a (تمام شد مرثيّه هاى حضرت حسين صلعم الخ), but on ff. 96 and 97 some more are added; comp. E. Polak, Persien, i. p. 341; H.
