Genome Skimming Corals and Sponges from Deep Waters of Puerto Rico

Genome skimming libraries were generated from corals and sponges sampled at reefs, ridges, banks, and seamounts in deep waters near Puerto Rico. Sampling was conducted with the remotely-operated vehicle SuBastian during research expedition FKt230417 "Health Diagnostics of Deep-Sea Coral" a collaboration between the Schmidt Ocean Institute, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Lehigh University, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez. Genome skimming was funded through an interagency agreement between the Smithsonian Institution and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.
