The 8-day composite Level 3 product (MYD11A2) of 1-kilometer Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity from the MODIS Aqua satellite is generated by compositing the daily 1-kilometer Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity product (MYD11A1). It stores the average values of Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity from clear-sky observations over an 8-day period, and is projected using the Sinusoidal projection.
MYD11A2 includes daytime and nighttime datasets, quality assessment information, observation times, observation angles, the number of valid clear-sky daytime and nighttime observation days, as well as surface emissivity estimates for different land cover types in bands 31 and 32.
