It is not intended for public use or distribution and must not be used for any purpose until its official publication.[Blinded for review] Dataset============================ The [Blinded for review] dataset is an expanded version of the original [Blinded for review] dataset (v1), with significant improvements in both size and annotation detail. Compared to v1, the number of teeth has increased from 179 to 227. In v2, radiographs are provided at five different rotation angles (-10°, -5°, 0°, +5°, +10°), with 0° corresponding to the original acquisition angle used in v1—where the buccal side of the tooth faces the X-ray tube—significantly enhancing data variability. Additionally, annotations have been expanded to include more sophisticated consensus and algorithm-derived methods. ### Newly Added in v2:- Radiographs for each tooth at five angles (v1 had one per tooth).- Cropped proximal-side radiographs (2_Proximal_Sides).- Micro-CT-projected annotations on radiographs.- Consensus, STAPLE, and Majority Vote annotation sets.- Per-expert annotations for both entire teeth and proximal-side crops. We expect that this enriched dataset provides a more robust foundation for training and evaluating models for proximal caries detection. [Blinded for review] v2 Dataset Overview======================================== The [Blinded for review] v2 dataset is structured into four main folders: 1. 1_Micro-CT_Scans ---------------- Contains 227 micro-CT scans of premolars and molars in NII format. 2. 2_Micro-CT_Annotations ----------------------- Includes caries lesion annotations corresponding to the 227 micro-CT scans. Annotations focus on initial proximal caries lesions and were performed by a dental radiologist with over 25 years of experience. 3. 3_Radiographs -------------- Contains radiographs of the 227 teeth across 5 rotation angles: - 1_Entire_Teeth: 1,135 radiographs (227 teeth × 5 rotations). - 2_Proximal_Sides: 2,270 cropped radiographs (227 teeth × 5 rotations × 2 proximal sides — left 'l' and right 'r'). 4. 4_Radiograph_Annotations ------------------------- Includes caries lesion annotations for the radiographs: 4.1 1_Entire_Teeth_Annotations --------------------------- Four folders, each containing 1,135 annotations for the full-tooth radiographs: - 1_Consensus: Annotations made in consensus by three dentists (Experts 1–3). - 2_Single_Expert_1: Annotations by a dentist with >5 years of experience. - 3_Single_Expert_2: Annotations by a dentist with >5 years of experience. - 4_Single_Expert_3: Annotations by a dentist with >25 years of experience. 4.2 2_Proximal_Sides_Annotations ----------------------------- Seven folders with 2,270 annotations each for cropped proximal-side radiographs. These are either direct projections or derived from other annotations: - 1_Micro-CT-based: Projected from micro-CT annotations. - 2_Consensus: Consensus among the three experts. - 3_STAPLE: Derived using the STAPLE algorithm. - 4_Majority_Vote: Derived via majority voting of the single-expert annotations. - 5_Single_Expert_1: Based on annotations from Expert 1. - 6_Single_Expert_2: Based on annotations from Expert 2. - 7_Single_Expert_3: Based on annotations from Expert 3.
