Empirical Study of Learning Losses in Frontline Regions of Ukraine (2025)

This dataset contains empirical data collected as part of PhD dissertation research on learning losses in Ukrainian general secondary education during the war. Data were collected in partnership with the Ukrainian Association of Education Researchers (NGO DOCCU), within the "12 Steps to Overcoming Learning Losses" professional development programme. The dataset comprises three components: (1) diagnostic test results of 714 students in grades 4–11 from Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Sumy oblasts across five subjects (English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, History, Ukrainian Language), collected in November 2025; (2) structured survey responses from 875 teachers across three waves (January, February, and September 2025), covering their perceptions of learning losses, affected topics, prior experience, and professional development needs; (3) qualitative Padlet board data from the same three waves, capturing teachers' open-ended responses to two prompts: "What I know about learning losses" and "My expectations from the programme." All personally identifiable information (full names and email addresses) has been removed from quantitative files. Padlet responses are retained as collected, as they were visible to all programme participants on a public board.
