VPRS 16046 Register of Workers' Compensation Claims

This record was created in relation to the Workers' Compensation Act 1914. Under Section 11 of the Act, claims for compensation had to be made within four months of the occurence of the accident causing the injury, or in the case of death within four months from the time of death.It is thought that claims for compensation continued to be registered in this way post-September 1932 but the whereabouts of the volumes was not known as at 2007.However, from December 1932, compensation claims were listed in VPRS 15982 Correspondence Alphabetical Record Book under 'CL' for Claims for Compensation.VPRS 10031/P0, unit 143 was reserialised as VPRS 16046/P1, unit 1 in May 2007.
