Import value of goods into South Africa 2023, by category

As of 2023, mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products were the largest import category into South Africa, amounting to nearly 22.5 billion U.S. dollars. The items had a share of 21 percent of the total South African imports. Machinery, nuclear reactors, and boilers constituted the second main category, with an import value of close to 12.9 billion U.S. dollars.
