资源简介:
In this bioproject we report genome organisation of the multidrug resistant VS224 strain of marine fish pathogen Aliivibrio salmonicida. The use of antibiotics was introduced to Norwegian aquaculture 1980s. The initial studies of multiple A. salmonicida strains have shown no evidences of antibiotic resistance. The A. salmonicida strain VS224 was isolated in 1987 from diseased Atlantic salmon under an outbreak of Cold Water Vibriosis on fish farm in Møre and Romsdal County, Norway. The current bioproject have confirmed that VS224 strain (isolate 1193/87 LVIIR) contain previously undescribed plasmid harboring novel transposons. The transposons mediate resistance to tetracycline, trimethoprim and sulphonamides and share novel 3.2 kb IS_Vs1 insertion elements. The resistant determinants are located on the 286 kb pRVS1 plasmid of the microorganism.Cultivation, sequencing and assembly of A. salmonicida VS224 genome was performed by Alexander K. Bekkelund. Microbial strain was provided by Henning Sørum.
