资源简介:
This study investigates the therapeutic potential of Astragaloside IV (AS-IV), a bioactive compound derived from traditional herbal medicine, in modulating gut microbiota dysbiosis associated with DSS-induced colitis. Given that inflammatory bowel disease is closely linked to disruptions in microbial homeostasis particularly imbalances in Bacteroidota and Bacillota ratios alongside depletion of beneficial Lactobacillus species and expansion of pathogenic Escherichia coli identifying compounds capable of restoring this balance holds significant clinical relevance. By characterizing cecal bacterial composition across experimental cohorts, this study aims to elucidate whether AS-IV can reverse hallmark microbial signatures of intestinal inflammation, thereby providing mechanistic insight into its anti-inflammatory and gut-protective properties. These findings contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the scientific validation of traditional herbal compounds as adjunct or alternative therapeutic strategies for managing gut dysbiosis in inflammatory bowel disease.
