Fruit set after imidacloprid spraying.

To evaluate the effect of insecticide spraying on tomato production, an experiment was set up in three study areas apart from each other by at least 2km. Three blocks of 14 pots were established in each area, each corresponding to one experimental treatment. Insecticide applications were made very early in the morning before the flowers opened and were visited by bees. In each area, one of the blocks was pulverized with water (control treatment), the second block had insecticide pulverization done once a week (every seven days), and the third block had another for insecticide pulverization done twice a week (every 3 - 4 days), which simulates the standard management practices used by local tomato producers in the study region (treatment twice a week). The insecticide used was Evidence (commercial name - evidence® 700 WG), with the active ingredient imidacloprid. from the Neonicotinoid group.
