Yersiniabactin-type metallophores (YTMs) represent a structurally diverse family of aryl-heterocycle metallophores with important ecological functions. To expand current knowledge of the biosynthetic diversity of YTMs and YTM-like metallophores, we performed a targted genome mining approach, which led to the identification of a previously unreported BGC featuring an unusual alternating NRPS/PKS architecture and putatively encoding a yersiniabactin-like metallophore
