Marine fishes (from Australia) COI barcode reference library

Dataset outlined here represents a DNA barcode reference library of the mtDNA COI from 9767 voucher specimens (representing at least 2220 species and 288 families) of fishes. Physical specimens are mostly maintained and curated by the CSIRO Australian National Fish Collection (ANFC) in Hobart, Australia. Publicly available dataset is from the Barcode of Life Data System and represents 17 years of barcoding from Australian marine waters.\nLineage: Fish specimens into the ANFC were collected from research voyages, ships of opportunity, research projects, collaborators, public donations. Specimens were taxonomically identified and barcoded for the COI gene.
