Experimental dataset on bending and embedment strengths of densified dowels made with reclaimed timber and double-shear performance of reclaimed timber connections with densified dowels

Abstract This dataset contains raw experimental load-deformation results from bending and embedment tests of thermo-mechanically densified dowels made with reclaimed timber and push-out shear tests conducted on double shear connections assembled with densified dowels in three connection layups (all-reclaimed timber, all-virgin spruce timber, and hybrid lamellae). Description of sample IDs The dataset includes several specimen groups corresponding to the experimental program described in the manuscript. The description of the samples IDs is provided below (Note: the file names serve as the actual sample IDs in the attached dataset): 1. Dowel bending samples (3-point bending test) Non-densified reclaimed timber dowels (samples numbered 1 to 10) Densified reclaimed timber dowels (samples numbered 1 to 10) 2. Embedment samples (half-hole embedment test) Sample ID: NB. Embedment specimens with densified dowels in virgin spruce lamellae. Sample ID: RB. Embedment specimens with densified dowels in reclaimed timber lamellae. 3. Push-out shear connection samples (double-shear test) Sample ID: ND. All-virgin spruce lamellae connections with a densified dowel made with reclaimed timber. Sample ID: RND. Hybrid connections with reclaimed outer lamellae and virgin spruce central lamella assembled with a densified dowel made with reclaimed timber. Sample ID: RD. All-reclaimed timber lamellae connections with a densified dowel made with reclaimed timber.
