The Anti-Cancer Mechanism of MS13 (1,5-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,4-pentadiene-3-one) on Human Colon Cancer Cells
收藏资源简介:
Colerectal cancer (CRC) is one of the common causes of cancer-related death worldwide. CRC is rarely completely cured due to recurrence despite surgical removal and chemotherapy. Alternatively , therapeutic approaches can be used by developing new anti-cancer agents. The anti-cancer effects of curcumin on colon cancer have been well documented but specific structural modifications of curcumin have been shown to possess greater growth-suppressive potential on colon cancer compared to curcumin. MS13, a diarylpentanoid (1,5-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-phenyl)-1,4-pentadiene-3-one)) is synthesized by modification of curcumin’s phenolic rings and β-diketone moiety. In this present study MS13 demonstrates anti-cancer activity on human colon cancer cells.
