IMPROVING THE ECONOMIC MECHANISMS FOR DEVELOPING TRANSIT FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION AND ENHANCING UZBEKISTAN'S POTENTIAL AS A GLOBAL TRANSPORT HUB

This thesis examines the economic mechanisms for attracting transit freight flows to Uzbekistan and explores the country’s prospects for becoming a global transport hub. Uzbekistan’s geostrategic location, existing railway infrastructure, and opportunities within international transport corridors are analyzed through the lens of innovative approaches. The study also highlights the economic benefits of increasing transit cargo flows, including higher state budget revenues, reduced foreign trade costs, attraction of new investments, and enhancement of international competitiveness. Furthermore, the paper substantiates the economic effectiveness of public-private partnerships, the development of logistics centers, the expansion of multimodal transport services, and digitalization mechanisms. The findings demonstrate Uzbekistan’s significant potential to become one of the leading transport and logistics hubs in Central Asia in the future.
