资源简介:
This dataset explores the intersections between economic indicators and Chinese personnel contribution to United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKOs) from 1990 to 2019. Personnel deployments are measured in four different ways: (i) contribution per mission, including those in which there is no participation; (ii) total contribution per year; (iii) contribution in relation to the total mission contingent; and (iv) contribution to a given mission in relation to the total personnel sent by China for all missions that year. As for the economic indicators, they are grouped in two clusters comprising potential indicators for evaluating the “resource-seeking” and “responsibility” hypotheses. The “resource-seeking” cluster has three variables: exports from the host country to China; share of raw materials exports in relation to total exports; share of energy resources exports in relation to total exports. On the other hand, the “responsible power” cluster has two explanatory variables: China’s GDP; and the host country’s GDP in relation to China’s GDP.
