Modern techniques and methods for digitizing cultural heritage collection of 3D data useful for surveying and modelling in the archaeological field
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains a comprehensive 3D survey of the ancient theater at the archaeological site of Iuvanum (Italy), acquired using a multi-sensor approach that integrates Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry, Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), and Matterport Pro3 scanning. The survey was conducted with high-resolution imaging and laser scanning devices to capture both the overall geometry and fine architectural details of the theater. Dataset type: UAV images, TLS scans, SLAM scans, GNSS Ground Control Points (GCPs) Number of UAV images: 169 (DJI Mini 4 Pro) GCPs: 15 artificial targets measured with GNSS fast-static survey (cm-level accuracy) TLS devices used: FARO Focus S70, Stonex X100 SLAM device used: Stonex X120GO Additional data: Matterport Pro3 colorized point clouds and panoramic imagery Processing software: Agisoft Metashape / 3DF Zephyr (UAV photogrammetry), FARO SCENE (TLS), Stonex Cube-Scan & Reconstructor (SLAM), Matterport Capture App (Matterport scans) Output formats: Georeferenced point clouds (LAS, PLY), textured 3D meshes (OBJ, glTF), orthophotos, and metadata files Coordinate reference system: WGS84 / UTM Zone 33N The final dataset includes the raw images and scans, GNSS survey data, processed point clouds, and an integrated georeferenced 3D model of the theater. It provides a detailed, semantically rich digital record of the site, suitable for heritage documentation, archaeological research, 3D reconstruction testing, and educational or VR/AR applications.
