资源简介:
The isolate was obtained from the biofilm of the red alga Chondrus crispus collected in a rocky beach in Porto, Portugal. Strain LzC2 is motile, rosette forming with spherical to ovoid shaped cells. It forms magenta to pinkish coloured colonies. Transmission and scanning electron microscopy observations show a typical planctomycetal shape and cell plan evidencing a cell division by polar budding as well as an unusual variation in which the new bud was occasionally observed forming laterally (lateral budding). Mother cells connected to the daughter cells by a tubular neck-like structure. This strain requires salt to grow and could tolerate up to 5% NaCl. No vitamins need. Optimal growth occurs from 15 to 30 C and within a pH range from 5.5 to 10. The genes for the main primary biosynthetic pathways are present but only some genes were present for gluconeogenesis. Genes for the glyoxylate cycle are not found. Major fatty acids are anteiso-C15:0 (54.2%) and iso-C15:0 (19.5%). Phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol and an unidentified glycolipid are the main lipids and menaquinone 6 (MK-6) is the only quinone present.
