Rhizosphere and bulk soil 16S and 18S communities associated with maize Raw sequence reads

We set out to determine which protists are enriched in the maize rhizosphere. We also isolated and cultured protists from our samples for future experiments. We produced 40 libraries total: 20 18S and 20 16S. The libraries were generated from 10 rhizosphere and 10 bulk soil samples from Connecticut. There were significant differences in the bacterial and protist communities between the two locations, although there were 8 core protist taxa shared among the rhizosphere samples.
