Austropuccinia psidii strain:115012-Mr Genome sequencing

P. psidii sensu lato was reported for the first time in Australia in 2010. Since its first report, it has been found to be widely distributed along the entire east coast of NSW, and parts of Queensland and Victoria. The objective of this study was to obtain a brief overview of the size and composition of the myrtle rust genome using a cost-effective, high throughput sequencing technology and the determination of its taxonomic status. This will provide some genetic understanding of the pathogen for the development and implementation of long-term management.
