Dataset of Textual and Geospatial Evidence on Cultural Heritage Damage and Recovery in Nineveh (2008–2025)

This dataset provides multilingual textual and geospatial data documenting the damage and reconstruction of cultural heritage sites in Nineveh, Iraq (2008–2025). It integrates over 41,000 Arabic and English text records from news sources, cultural platforms, and UNESCO reports with geocoded coordinates of more than 90 heritage sites.The data includes extracted entities such as site names, responsible parties, damage levels, reconstruction status, and sentiment.Analytical processing was performed using Apache Spark, multilingual BERT, and GIS-based spatial statistics (Moran’s I, LISA, Getis-Ord Gi*, DBSCAN).The dataset supports reproducible research on the patterns of heritage damage and recovery in post-conflict urban environments.
