On Tuesday September 30th, a sweeping net was used in both the Saywell Woodlot at York University and the Grassland East of Stong Bond to observe the number of insects captured and the total number of unique rtus in the net. Multiple transects of 100m were used as the distance. The total time spent sweeping and observations were repeated and recorded every 10 times in a 25m distance or 2 min time capacity.
