Raw data that are part of the publication: "G-protein activation of the dark-state visual G protein-coupled receptor rhodopsin by releasing critical structural constraints" by Eva Ramon, Kristina Kirchberg, Mireia Jiménez-Rosés, Jens Balke, Tai-Yang Kim, Arnau Cordomí, Ulrike Alexiev, Pere Garriga to be published in Communications Biology, 2026. This dataset compiles the results for i) triple mutant rhodopsin T94I/E134Q/M257Y spectral characterization, ii) the ability of triple mutant rhodopsin T94I/E134Q/M257Y to bind all-trans-retinal and further characterization, iii) the Molecular Dynamics analysis and Simulations to understand molecular basis of the mutation, iv) the accessibility of G protein peptide on the T94I/E134Q/M257Y triple mutant when compared to WT rhodopsin and v) Helix 8 mobility of the T94I/E134Q/M257Y triple mutant when compared to WT rhodopsin.
