Evaluation of the orally administered calcium alginate aerogel on the changes of gut microbiota and hepatic and renal function of Wistar rats

The study investigated the effect of giving aerogels, as a potential drug delivery system, on gut microbiota. The rats were divided into several groups, each group received a different concentration of aerogel, which was given orally. Then the feces were collected at the beginning of the experiment (before taking the aerogels) and at time points after taking the aerogels. The treatment was conducted at two levels when it comes to time; short-term (for 2 weeks) and long-time (for one month)
