Quasi-global, land-only, high-resolution and spatially averaged climate variables from downscaled CMIP6 models for climate impact research

The dataset comprises (1) bias-corrected and downscaled, high-resolution (0.1°) daily climate model outputs covering 12 land-only domains between 60°N and 60°S and (2) corresponding spatially averaged (population-weighted) area-level estimates consistently derived from both the observational datasets and the bias-corrected and downscaled climate model outputs at (sub-)national administrative unit levels for more than 100 countries. We used outputs from two observational datasets and six CMIP6 models under two scenarios from the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP)-RCP framework, SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5. The complete dataset, including pixel-based gridded information provided as NetCDF files (comprising the bias-corrected and downscaled climate model outputs) and spatially averaged (population-weighted) climate variables (based on observational datasets as well as the generated climate model outputs) provided in Parquet format, is registered with Zenodo (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21915837) and hosted in the associated public Box repository (URL: https://imperialcollegelondon.box.com/v/downscaled-cmip6-models). The Zenodo record provides a persistent dataset record and DOI, while the complete data files are available through the associated Box repository.
