In this study, we present the reference genome for the Parnassius apollo butterfly.

TEMPLATEParnassius apollo represents is an iconic endangered butterfly species. It has experienced a large genome size increase compared to all other butterflies, and this genome will therefore serve as an important resource, both for the conservation of the species, but also to increase our understanding of the dynamics of genome expansion in Lepidoptera.
