Study on soil and groundwater bacterial diversity of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated sites in Europe

This dataset describes the characterisation of bacterial communities in petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated sites in Europe. We use the results to guide the isolation of PHC degraders and to test their degradative capacities towards various petroleum hydrocarbon compounds including polycyclic aromatics.
