Leisure Study in Høje Taastrup, 2002: Young People

In order to examine the habits and wishes of children and young people as regards spare time activities, the municipality of Høje Taastrup asked CASA (Centre for Alternative Social Analysis) to carry out a questionnaire survey. # #The purpose of the survey is to map out spare time habits of children and young people, including whether they use the activities offered by the municipality. See also DDA-12255: Leisure Study in Høje Taastrup, 2002: Children and Young People). #The survey focuses on various themes regarding spare time activities: # #- Interests and wishes regarding spare time. #- Use of clubs and school care arrangements. #- Use of library. #- Participation in sports. #- Sports in school. #- Other spare time activities. #- Termination of spare time activities and stop of payment. #- Other leisure time. # #A total of 4586 children and young people participated in the survey. Of these 1592 came from forms 1 to 3 in the primary schools and private schools of the municipality, 2779 children came from forms 4 to 10 (DDA-12157), whereas the last 215 came from the youth educations (this survey). The majority of the children participated, i.e. 95% of the youngest children and 87% of the older children. # #Each of these groups have completed a special questionnaire. In the youngest forms the teacher read the questions aloud, and the pupils answered by show of hands.
