<p>This dataset concerns watershed-scale&nbsp;hydrology, erosion, and weathering&nbsp;in 30 tropical, montane watersheds in Puerto Rico that are underlain by volcanic-arc rocks (with a modal composition of basaltic andesite). The dataset&nbsp;comprises watershed locations and&nbsp;physical characteristics, wet and dry season&nbsp;water quality&nbsp;data, sediment geochemistry and derived weathering indices, estimated specific discharges and solute fluxes,&nbsp;cosmogenic <sup>36</sup>Cl derived erosion rates,&nbsp;and soil order data. All data types are available in&nbsp;27 of the 30 study watersheds. This dataset was collected between 2020 and 2022 (although includes a single sample from 2019) to study the factors that control volcanic-arc rock weathering rates in the humid tropics.</p>
<p>In addition, a compilation of discharge data from USGS stream gauges in Puerto Rico and watershed-averaged precipitation rates in the gauged catchments are included. These data are used to generate rainfall-runoff relationships and&nbsp;estimate specific discharges in&nbsp;the study watersheds, which are mostly ungauged.</p>
<p>The dataset is&nbsp;presented in 10&nbsp;tables that are included in a single excel file (.xlsx). In addition, <i>GNU Octave</i> code packages to determine watershed-averaged nucleonic scaling factors, calculate erosion rates from Cl isotope ratios, target chemistries, and watershed-averaged scaling factors, and to calculate York regressions between weathering and erosion data are included.&nbsp;This dataset was produced with support from NSF-EAR-2011358 and NSF-EAR-2011342.&nbsp;</p>
