GENDER-MARKED AND GENDER-NEUTRAL PROFESSIONAL TITLES IN ENGLISH AND GERMAN

This article examines the linguistic and socio-cultural aspects of gender-marked and gender-neutral professional titles in English and German. The study analyzes the historical development of occupational terminology, the influence of feminist linguistics, and contemporary tendencies toward inclusive language. Special attention is given to the grammatical differences between English and German and their impact on professional naming systems. The article argues that language reform reflects broader social changes connected with equality, representation, and identity.
