The goal of the original study is to characterize the composition of the bacterial microbiota associated with several species of insects collected across natural meadows in the Aland Islands, Finland. Insects were collected manually from several locations in the Aland Islands. DNA was extracted from individual full bodies, and the bacterial gene 16S rRNA was amplified and sequenced on an Illumina and on an AVITI platform.
