De novo assembly and characterization of Litchi fruit transcriptome. Litchi chinensis

Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) is one of the most important tropical and subtropical fruit trees. There is a lack of transcriptomic and genomic information in public databases for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit set and development in litchi. High throughput transcriptome sequencing is a convenient technique to explore a large quantity of transcript sequences.
