Networks of Localized Weapon Production, International Arms Trade and the Diffusion of Military Technology — Replication Materials

Replication materials for the article "Networks of Localized Weapon Production, International Arms Trade and the Diffusion of Military Technology" by Artem Maltsev (Defence and Peace Economics, 2026). This archive contains the data, R scripts, and results required to reproduce the analyses reported in the paper. The dataset is derived from the SIPRI Arms Transfers Database (https://www.sipri.org/databases/armstransfers) and assembled with the peacesciencer R package (Miller, 2022). The analysis applies Stochastic Actor-Oriented Models (SAOM, RSiena) and Temporal Exponential Random Graph Models (TERGM, btergm) over five-year moving windows from 1956 to 2015, comparing direct weapons deliveries, licensed local production, and the combined arms-trade subnetworks.
