Phenotypic and genotypic data of Staphylococcus aureus nasal strains isolated from students of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Poland

This dataset contains phenotypic and genotypic data of Staphylococcus aureus nasal strains isolated from students of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Poland. Each record includes strain metadata (field and year of study, sex), results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing for multiple antibiotics, and resistance phenotypes. The dataset also provides information on the presence or absence of virulence-associated genes, including staphylococcal enterotoxins (particularly those encoded within the egc cluster), as well as exfoliative toxins, hemolysins, toxic shock syndrome toxin, Panton-Valentine leukocidin, and accessory gene regulator (agr). In addition, PFGE profiles are included to assess the genetic relatedness of the isolates.
