Influence of white spot disease in the gut microbiota of shrimp reared in biofloc and clear seawater

The project analyzed the influence of the white spot syndrome virus in the intestinal microbiota of the Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) reared in biofloc technology and clear seawater systems. The viral infection causes a punctual dysbiosis in shrimp intestinal microbiota. The intestinal microbiota is dissimilar to rearing water microbiota but is influenced by the type of rearing system.
