资源简介:
Replication package for 'Demographics and the Real Exchange Rate' by Brian Peters (2026). Estimates the effect of population age structure on real exchange rates using a 140-country panel. Extends prior OECD-only findings to the full global sample. Key finding: aging populations predict real appreciation in rich countries (Balassa-Samuelson channel) but real depreciation in poor countries. The Z₁ × log GDP per capita interaction resolves the prior OECD null result — the OECD sample mixes countries on both sides of the income threshold. Includes labor force participation channel analysis and robustness battery.
